The Fenix HM75R Topaz rechargeable headlamp is specially adapted for the Czech and Slovak market and has several changes and improvements compared to the standard version of the Fenix HM75R headlamp:

  • The headlamp has a combined mode, in which both the high and wide reflector shines at the same time.
  • Inside the headlamp is used the latest 18650 battery with a capacity of 4000 mA instead of 3400 mAh in the standard version.
  • The external battery and USB extension cable are not included, making the standalone headlamp cheaper. Both can be purchased separately if needed.
  • In the remote reflector, an LED with a warmer neutral shade (approx. 4500 K) is used instead of a cold one.
  • In the wide reflector, LEDs with a warm tint (approx. 3000 K) and a high colour rendering quality index CRI 94.5 (Colour Rendering Index) are used.
  • The red light is switched on by double-clicking the button directly from the off state.
  • The weakest red light mode has been reduced to 2 lumens and conversely the flicker has been amplified to 10 lumens and has an increased frequency for a more effective warning function.

The power parameters have been maintained, the maximum output of both the main beam and the combined mode is 1600 lumens, the red light has an output of up to 120 lumens. The high beam reflector with the high-performance LED Luminus SST-40 produces a well-focused light beam with a range of up to 223 metres, and the second reflector with the high-performance LED Luminus SST-20 has a very wide and smooth light trail with a range of up to 68 metres. A rotary dial on the side of the headlamp toggles between the range, wide and combination modes.

The headlamp is powered by a rechargeable 18650 4000 mAh Li-ion battery, but a removable rear battery case with a 21700 5000 mAh battery pack can be purchased to significantly extend the light duration. The headlamp can also be operated without the battery inside, with only power from the powerbank via USB-C cable (with a slightly reduced maximum output). The headlamp is made of lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, its construction is fully dust and waterproof according to IP68 standard and also shockproof against drops from a height of 2 meters.

Thanks to its great performance and durability parameters, the HM75R Topaz headlamp is suitable for those who want a strong and reliable partner in extreme conditions. It will serve great at work e.g. for rescuers, but also for athletes, climbers, repairmen, hikers and other outdoor enthusiasts. A nice bonus is the very strong red light.

All parameters of the headlamp (luminous flux, battery life, waterproofness, range and shockproofness) are measured in accordance with ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.

Using the HM75R Topaz Headlamp

There may be an insulating cap on the battery pack from the factory. Remove it before first use.

The headlamp is switched on and off with the rotary switch on the right side. In the first position the headlamp is off, turning it to the second position switches it to the main beam mode, turning it to the third position switches it to the wide beam mode and turning it to the fourth position switches on the main beam and wide beam simultaneously. The off headlamp is switched to the last used red light mode by pressing the button twice quickly. Holding the button down will turn the red light off again.

The power modes of any reflector are cycled by pressing the button located on the side of the rotary switch.

Memory for last set power mode - The headlamp has a memory and will always turn on in the last set power mode of the selected reflector except for the highest power modes of the main and wide reflectors, instead it will turn on in the second highest power mode of that reflector.

Intelligent Power Reduction - The headlamp has a built-in protection circuit. When the reflector approaches the illuminated object (to less than 60 mm) for more than 1.5 s, it will automatically reduce power to low mode to prevent damage to the object from strong light and glare from reflected light. When the reflector is moved away from the illuminated object for more than 0.8 s, the headlamp will automatically restore the previously used power level. Smart Proximity Sensor On/Off - Press the side button on the headlamp for 6 seconds when the headlamp is turned off. Turning the feature on is indicated by the headlamp blinking twice in low mode. Turning the function off is indicated by the headlamp with eight blinks in low mode.

Intelligent overheat protection - When the headlamp is used on high power modes for long periods of time, a large amount of heat will accumulate. When the headlamp reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, it will automatically reduce the power by a few lumens to lower the temperature. When the temperature drops below 60 °C, the output will gradually increase again.

Headlamp low battery warning - If the battery voltage drops below the set level, the headlamp will automatically switch to a lower mode until it reaches the lowest power mode. When the lowest power setting is reached, the battery charge indicator will flash to remind you to recharge or replace the battery.

Charging the headlamp - Flip off the dust cover and plug the USB-C charging cable into the headlamp's charging port. Replace the dust cap when charging is complete. During the charging process, the four indicators on the top of the headlamp will gradually light up and flash. The four permanently on ones indicate that charging is complete. Normal charging time is 4 hours with a 5V/2.5A USB power supply for a fully discharged headlamp.
Note: The headlamp can be used in all modes while charging with the 9 V USB source. The maximum output of the high beam headlamp will be limited to 1200 lumens and the wide beam headlamp to 700 lumens. While charging with the 5 V USB power supply, the headlamp can only be used in the two lowest modes of any reflector. The headlamp flashes several times when first switched on after plugging in the USB source to indicate the charging voltage applied. Two flashes indicate charging with 5V and four flashes indicate charging with 9V. When powered from the USB source, the headlamp can also be used without the battery inside. Only charge the original Fenix ARB-L18 batteries in the headlamp.

Headlamp battery charge indication - After briefly pressing any button (the headlamp must be switched off), the LED battery charge indicator on the top of the headlamp is activated. Four lit LEDs indicate that the battery is 80-100% charged, three lit 60-80%, two lit 40-60%, one lit 20-40% and one flashing LED indicates that the battery is less than 20% charged.

Replacing the battery - Unscrew the headlamp cap and insert the battery with the plus pole facing the headlamp. Then tighten the headlamp cap fully again.

Caution

  • Do not disassemble the sealed parts yourself, it will violate the warranty.
  • Use only high quality Li-ion batteries or disposable CR123A batteries for power supply.
  • If the headlamp blinks, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it may be due to one of the following reasons:
    • The batteries are almost dead - replace them or recharge the battery pack.
    • The contacts are dirty - clean them with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Warranty

Warranty five years on the headlamp, two years on the battery.
