My first OPINEL knives are suitable as a first knife for children over 7 years of age. The rounded blade is as sharp as a standard knife, so care must be taken to ensure that children do not cut themselves when handling
The knife is fitted with a ViroBloc safety lock to prevent the knife from closing by itself. The polished 12C27M stainless steel is extremely corrosion resistant and virtually maintenance-free. Just rinse and wipe the knife dry after use. Occasionally it is advisable to wipe the blade with a drop of cooking oil or knife oil.
