The natural, impressive woodcock imitation works perfectly at short distances with light blowing - and also at long distances with strong blowing.

Instructions for attracting woodcock

The spring migration of woodcock, which return from warmer areas and usually move further northeast, is not only for the purpose of finding or changing suitable grazing areas, but even more so for the courtship that then begins

While the "quorum" is easily imitated with the mouth, the sharp, clear "pulitzen" is best performed with the elbow, which is inserted between the lips so far that the mouthpiece opening lies on the tongue and is thus closed

The two-syllable short call "Pu-itz" is now produced by a jerky expulsion of air, followed without pause by an immediate intake of air

The sharp conclusion of the call is made by suddenly closing the tongue

If the opening and closing of the mouthpiece with the tongue does not occur without noise, try to achieve an abrupt beginning and ending of the call by pressing the tongue under the palate

The naturalness of the call depends mainly on the shortness and sharpness of the last syllable

It lasts a maximum of 3/4 of a second and is emitted after 3-4 times the "quaver"

This quorum - similar to a frog sound - is produced when the lips form into a circle, which must open wide when the round, full and open O is pronounced: "Quorr-quorr-quorr- Psiwit"

A high quality woodcock decoy popular for its natural imitation of the "quorren" call

Easy sound control
