Safety and state-of-the-art technology
The maintenance-free, valve-controlled EMOS lead-acid batteries in AGM construction can be installed in any position
AGM batteries contain electrolyte soaked in glass laminate microfibres which are part of the separators between the individual lead plates. This is essentially a glass fleece into which the electrolyte soaks when poured. There is no risk of acid spillage and the batteries are therefore very safe to operate
The battery's safety valves prevent it from exploding in the event of gassing. The entire battery housing conforms to the relevant standard and the battery meets the general product safety requirements
Charging and operation of the batteries
The battery must be charged before first use. If the battery is inserted into a device that cannot detect its state of charge, the battery may be completely discharged, resulting in irreversible damage - destruction
Charging of the battery must be carried out using a suitable power supply or a charger supporting AGM technology that has a charging voltage of 14.4 V for 12V batteries and 7.2 V for 6V batteries. If the charger or power supply does not have these parameters, incomplete charging, rapid power consumption and, in extreme cases, battery destruction will occur
The optimum lifetime of backup systems is 5 years
Connection using FASTON connectors
Most EMOS maintenance-free lead-acid batteries are equipped with FASTON terminals. FASTON clamps are widely used in electronic and electrical equipment and in the automotive industry. FASTON clamps allow quick connection of the lead and connector to the battery
