These are triangular, abrasive-coated steel rods, coated with a bonding agent and then covered with cubic boron nitride particles. Cubic boron nitride is second only to diamond in hardness. Abrasive rods have abrasion resistance, abrasion resistance and thermal conductivity compared to conventional abrasives such as silicon carbide and aluminum oxide.
